My Approach to Therapy

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is at the heart of my work.
EMDR is a powerful, evidence-based therapy that helps you process painful experiences, release limiting beliefs, and create new ways of seeing yourself. Think of it like opening an old filing cabinet where negative beliefs such as "I’m not good enough” or "I am too much" first got stored. EMDR can help us access these memories and replace them with new learning and self-understanding, so that past experiences no longer have a hold on us.

True healing is about more than managing symptoms or changing behavior—it’s about shifting the deeper patterns and beliefs that keep us stuck.
I am reminded often that we are all constantly in a state of learning and change (willingly or not), and that compassion for ourselves is sadly often in short supply. I combine EMDR with awareness of attachment styles, mindfulness-based practices, and other integrative practices to help you reconnect with your strengths, express your needs, and restore trust in yourself.

I believe authenticity matters and that the best growth happens when we can both be fully ourselves in the room together.
Therapy doesn’t have to feel formal or stiff! I'm not one for formalities. Clients often describe me as nurturing, steady and practical—with a little “big sister” energy and a well-placed swear word thrown in to keep things real. No matter what comes up, you can count on me to be unconditionally in your corner every step of the way.

The strongest realizations and the most sustainable growth come from within.
Sometimes therapy involves working through a big crisis or transition; other times it’s about patiently charting a longer arc of transformation. Ultimately, I see my role as a guide: creating space, time, and gentle nudges for you to arrive at your own realizations and insights. My approach adapts to what you need in the moment while keeping an eye on your bigger picture—helping you not only get unstuck, but also build a life of resilience, meaning, and growth.
